It is two pictures,\u00a0 neither of any great merit.\u00a0 I did cope more successfully with the right hand promontory\u00a0 but the flare of orange at the edge of the painting, the two dimensional mountains, and the jumble supplying the trees &#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.williamsonfineart.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Keswick07.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-1455 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.williamsonfineart.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Keswick07-300x227.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"371\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.williamsonfineart.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Keswick07-300x227.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.williamsonfineart.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Keswick07-150x113.jpg 150w, https:\/\/blog.williamsonfineart.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Keswick07.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 371px) 85vw, 371px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This is the same view, but a better composition, and a better painting.\u00a0 The clouds are a bit clunky, but the overall feeling is of a day full of sunshine and showers.\u00a0 The colours in the distant trees is nearer to Autumn, and the light reflecting off the water is one aspect of the Lake District everyone loves.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve made a bit more of the headland, and lapping water, as I&#8217;m beginning to understand what the knife can do in these circumstances.\u00a0 Palette knives made good mountains once you get the hang of it.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, as a break from wrestling with wind and water, I turned round and did a tree!<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.williamsonfineart.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Keswick10.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1458\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.williamsonfineart.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Keswick10-216x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"216\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.williamsonfineart.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Keswick10-216x300.jpg 216w, https:\/\/blog.williamsonfineart.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Keswick10-108x150.jpg 108w, https:\/\/blog.williamsonfineart.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Keswick10-738x1024.jpg 738w, https:\/\/blog.williamsonfineart.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Keswick10.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 216px) 85vw, 216px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I think this is a bit of a disaster compositionally speaking.
